I’M SHERRYE

I’m currently working towards art that aims to connect the worlds of design and cultures worldwide. Currently at Michigan State University, I’m studying Graphic Design as well as Experience Architecture (XA).


Much like the way cultures intertwine, the world of design is greatly interlinked. My goal is to create experiences that bring together diverse perspectives, allowing design to reflect cultural differences while fostering connection.

ELI & EDYTHE BROAD ART MUSEUM (MSU BROAD ART MUSEUM) | EAST LANSING, MI

Graphic Design Intern | February 2024–Present

  • Contributed to the design and execution of various print and digital collateral, such as 8+ newspaper ads, employee name tags, website graphics, and promotional materials maintaining consistency in museum brand messaging

  • Enhanced user experience design by optimizing page layouts and improving navigation structure, increasing visitor engagement by 35% using WordPress

  • Assisted in the development and refinement of museum rebranding, including logos, color palettes, typography, and visual style guides using Adobe Creative Suite

MSU GAMMA EPSILON TAU (MSU GET) | EAST LANSING, MI

Web Design Team Director | September 2024–Present

  • Conducting user experience research using interviews and usability testing to identify key areas for improvement and optimize website accessibility for desktop and mobile users

  • Leading a website redesign using Figma and Framer aimed at enhancing UI/UX to better reflect fraternity values and improve engagement with members and prospective recruits

  • Collaborating with fraternity leadership to define branding elements and establish a cohesive digital presence aligned with fraternity goals

MSU CHINESE-AMERICAN STUDENT COALITION (MSU CSC) | EAST LANSING, MI

Marketing Chair | October 2022–May 2024

  • Created designs for the sale of 60+ hoodies using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop generating $2400+ dollars in sales to fund club activities and events

  • Spearheaded the design direction of 3+ executive board members and club interns, communicating through Microsoft Teams resulting in aesthetically pleasing graphics gaining 1,500+ unique interactions from various Instagram users monthly

  • Envisioned and led a team of 8+ members in the design decisions of Michigan State University’s annual Chinese Lunar New Year Banquet creating graphics, posters, and designs resulting in 250+ paid ticket holders from members around the mid-west resulting in granting scholarships to hard-working student applicants

MIDWEST ASIAN PACIFIC ISLANDER DESI AMERICAN UNION (MAASU) | CHICAGO, MI

Public Relations Chair | December 2023–June 2024

  • Served as a liaison between 20+ Leadership Summit members and the Spring Conference marketing committees to approve social media posts, as well as aid in the production of social media graphics and digital content.

  • Produced over 6 press releases, press packets, and marketing materials for MAASU-sponsored events using Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator, distributing them to Midwest member schools and contributing to 60+ participants at all MAASU-related events.

  • Developed monthly newsletters and multimedia through MailChimp, achieving 100+ interactions per month, and distributed across various platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

DANCE


In my free time, I love to dance. It’s a fun and energizing way for me to stay active, express creativity, and explore different styles. Whether practicing choreography or just grooving to the music, dance always brings me joy and balance.

TRAVELING


When I have the chance, I love to travel. Discovering new destinations and immersing myself in diverse cultures inspires me and expands my worldview through a designer lens. Whether it's a quick trip or a journey abroad, traveling keeps me curious and excited for new experiences.

CONCERTS


As a very big music listener, attending concerts is one of my favorite pastimes. The energy of live music and the connection with fellow fans create unforgettable experiences.

Stick and Pokes has been a new found hobby of mine. The artistry and connection involved in creating unique designs for others make them special. Each tattoo tells a story and represents a moment in a life, allowing people to express their own individuality.
